Yuan Zhou is a multidisciplinary artist based in Vancouver, BC. Her practice moves fluidly across illustration, textile, bookmaking, animation, and video, guided not by medium but by emotion. For Yuan, art-making is an act of self-healing—a way of processing and holding space for the quiet, everyday feelings that shape human experience.
Her work consistently expresses a sense of vulnerable sadness, not as something to be fixed, but as something to be recognized and gently cared for. Through this lens, she creates visual narratives that speak to emotional honesty, soft resilience, and introspective reflection.
Yuan is currently studying at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, where she was awarded the Andrew Oksakovsky and Dr. Emily Goetz Memorial Scholarship in recognition of her emerging voice and artistic potential.
